- What are hash Quicklinks?
Quicklinks are unique IDs (hash) that your file sharing program recognize and use to download known files of its network. Each network has its own method of making this ID; Sigster supports the Sig2dat, Ed2k, Magnet and Torrent networks. Quicklinks are used to verify that the file you are about to download is real and virus free.
- How do I use Sigster?
Open the program and type your search phrase in the search box. You can search all the networks or just the one you want to use. The program will start the search and soon enough will return results. We recommend that you wait until the search is over. If you want more information about the link, you can visit the site Sigster found the link on.
- How do I download the file I found?
Click on the link and the program associated with the link will start downloading the file. If no program is associated with that link then right click on the link and choose to copy it to the clipboard, then you can paste it in any program you like.
- Why should I use Sigster when I can search for files on the file sharing program?
As P2P networks got more and more popular, they also got uglier. People use the networks to spread viruses and fake files. Since Sigster searches for hash files, it's much more likely that the file you download using Sigster is virus free, fake free and got more sources.
- Does Sigster cost anything?
No it does not.
- I searched for something popular and it found only few results - how come?
Sigster searches for Quicklinks, these links are made by users over the web; It's very likely that a popular file is on the network but perhaps no one have made a Quicklink for it.. Hopefully the file you are searching for got a hash Quicklink.
- Why does it take so long to finish a search?
Sigster does a real time crawl for the results, the search depends on the popularity of the file you searched for and on your internet connection speed.
